Kennedy Hall is an emerging artist from Columbus, OH, crafting folk and soul-inspired indie rock. Influenced by Bright Eyes, Fiona Apple, and MJ Lenderman, Hall’s confessional songwriting brings a fresh perspective to the emotional indie rock landscape. Her pure vocals soar above biting bluesy guitar tones, nodding to her favorite band “Wednesday” and the rising wave of alt-country. Hall's debut EP Spitfire explores the pull of nostalgia alongside the angst, grit and determination to move forward. Whether she’s performing solo or with her band – Patrick Mahoney Jr. (of “The Quasi Kings”) and Jack Lynch (of “Top Scrub”) – Hall’s raw, vulnerable performance connects listeners through collective introspection and healing.

Spitfire is a really strong EP that doesn’t overstay its welcome. It functions as a sort of mission statement for Hall. The hooks are aplenty but don’t try too hard. “Midnight Walking” has one of the most memorable choruses, accompanied by some bluesy guitar that is almost understated in the mix. All of the songs exist on a similar wavelength. “Billionaire” comes closest to deviating from this framework with a dreamy bridge that has the charm of an early 2000s pop rock tune. A fun “wah wah wah” guitar solo brings the track and the EP home, leaving the listener wanting more. And, just like that the title track is back [to] appease the listener. If Hall was aiming for immediate replay value, she certainly knew what she was doing.
